Last night, I was transported to an exotic den of wonderful worldly wares which were on sale– and at a discount, no less! Yet, this was no dream: the exotic lair was the Fashion District showroom of
John Robshaw, international artist and textile designer extraordinaire, which he generously offered up to house an evening bazaar put on by L-Atitude, and I can understand why. The two are a perfect fit. Reader, if you are as yet unfamiliar with L-Atitude, you shall soon be happily familiar.
L-Atitude is my absolute favorite online boutique which I’ve only just discovered this year, and word is spreading fast about their collection of covetable treasures from around the world. Their clever motto says it all:
Shop the world. Flaunt your wheres. It’s a world-wide shopper’s dream: spend on your closet what you save by foregoing the world tour via private jet. L-Atitude is much more than just a mecca for style mavens. It’s an online community: a source of inspiration and collaboration for anyone with a passion for the elevation of global consciousness and the culture of fashion. Alisa Ng, CEO and Founder, has established L-Atitude not only as a supplier of such buzz-hot New York names as
Thakoon and
Vicente Villarin, but also as an incubator for noteworthy newcomers to the international design realm such as
Emi Jorge of Manila whose architectural handbags are literally handheld works of high art. Milan is well represented by the deftly draped dresses of
Gabriele Colangelo among others, but cities across the globe as exotic as Bali to those as metropolitan as Stockholm are well represented by fresh design talent. The designers are organized by city, and there is a special section called
Global Give that is dedicated to lines that support humanitarian and eco-sustainable efforts so that when you buy, you give and get at the same time. Now, doesn’t that feel great? So did all in attendance last night as we whet our world-wandering whistles with invigorating cucumber gin fizzy cocktails mixed by the charming bearded bar man. So go on– calibrate your sartorial compass and your global conscience. . . as though you needed any justification to buy the gorgeous goods you’ll find at L-Atitude.com.
